Study the stitching (even and tight), the hardware (heavy, correctly stamped), the logo alignment, the lining and the serial or date code against genuine references. Favour sellers with strong feedback and clear photos of every detail, and be wary of a price that seems too good, because on established brands it usually is.
Check the wear points. The corners, base, handles and strap take the most damage; look for scuffs, cracking leather, ink stains inside and a working, untarnished zip. Some wear is normal and negotiable, but structural damage like a torn strap or peeling coating is expensive to repair. Ask whether it comes with the dust bag, authenticity card or receipt, which add value and reassurance.
Brands hold value differently. A few iconic styles from the top houses barely depreciate and can even appreciate, while fashion-led or seasonal bags lose value quickly. Then ask the seller for detailed photos of the interior label, stitching, heat stamp and hardware, and compare against brand authenticity guides online. Real bags feel and look right in close photos; fakes have sloppy stitching, poor hardware, and fake interior labels.

These are second hand prices, listed by sellers as used or pre-owned, taken from live eBay US listings in US dollars. In collectible categories a sealed or unworn item is sometimes the cheapest genuine listing, and it is included. The same number works both ways: it is what a buyer pays today and the resale value a seller can realistically ask. Every model also carries a price history, the daily record kept since tracking began, which is the part to read before you buy or resell. On a day when a model has no listing that passes these filters, its row keeps the last price we recorded rather than inventing one, and drops off this table if that goes on for more than a few days.
Under each model is the actual listing that price came from, so you can see whether it is the thing you want or a bundle, a variant, or an accessory that happens to share the name.
