Browse the full range of home theater projectors on eBay → Prices move fast. See the biggest price drops across every category this week →Every model ranked by dollars per 1000 lumens, using each projector's manufacturer-rated brightness and today's cheapest live price. This measures raw brightness for your money, so cheap bright projectors rank highest. It is not the whole story: premium models cost more per lumen because you also pay for contrast, true 4K and colour accuracy, which matter most in a dark room. Tap a model to see its live listings.
Match brightness to your room, not just the spec sheet. Lumens measure light output: a dark, dedicated room needs only 1500 to 2000 lumens, while a living room with lamps or daylight wants 2500 to 3000 or more. Our value ranking above shows dollars per 1000 lumens so you can find the brightest projector for your budget, then sanity-check it against your room.
Contrast and native resolution matter as much as brightness. A high contrast ratio gives deeper blacks and a more cinematic image, which is why premium models like the Epson 5050UB cost far more per lumen. For film in a dark room, prioritise contrast and true or pixel-shifted 4K; for sport and gaming in a bright room, prioritise raw lumens and a fast response time.
Factor in the lamp (or go laser). Traditional lamp projectors are cheap to buy but the bulb dims over time and costs $60 to $150 to replace every few thousand hours. Newer laser and LED models cost more up front but the light source lasts 20,000+ hours with no replacement, which can be the better value if you watch a lot. Check the listing for lamp hours used on any lamp-based model.
New, refurbished or used. Manufacturer-refurbished projectors (often sold on eBay by Epson, BenQ and Optoma directly) come with some warranty at a real discount; private used sales are cheaper still. Whichever you choose, sort by $ per 1000 lumens above to see which model genuinely gives the most brightness for the money right now.

Bright budget projectors can dip under $60 per 1000 lumens. Premium home theater models cost far more per lumen because you also pay for contrast, 4K and colour accuracy, not just light output.
1500 to 2000 lumens suits a dark room; 2500 to 3000 or more suits a living room with ambient light. The value table shows each model's rated lumens next to its price.

A daily snapshot of the lowest genuine eBay price for every model we track, and how good that price is right now versus its usual level, updated automatically. Prices last refreshed 30 August 2026 . Tap a price to see that model's cheapest listings on eBay, or tap a model name for the full live list here.
Under each model is the actual listing that price came from, so you can see whether it is the thing you want or a bundle, a variant, or an accessory that happens to share the name.
"Off retail" compares today's used price with what the model cost new. For models still on sale that is the current price; for discontinued ones it is the launch price, so it shows how far the model has depreciated rather than a discount you could get on a new one. A few models read "above" instead: they now cost more used than they did new, which is normal for a retired set or a part nobody makes any more.
