How to buy used safely. The number that matters is the total including shipping, which we add up for you. Then check the seller's feedback (shown on every listing), whether returns are accepted, and whether the watch is in working condition. Favour listings with photos of the actual watch and a note that it powers on and the screen is not cracked. Remember eBay's Money Back Guarantee covers you if it arrives faulty or not as described. Prices refresh live from eBay and are cached briefly, so they are current to within a few minutes.

How to buy a used Garmin watch

Match the model to your sport, not the model number. Garmin's range is huge and confusing: the Forerunner line is for running, the Fenix and Epix are rugged multisport watches, the Instinct is a tough budget option, and the Venu is the lifestyle/AMOLED choice. Work out which features you need (built-in maps, music, dive or golf modes, solar charging) and buy the cheapest model that has them, because an older Fenix often beats a newer entry model for serious use.

Check the battery and the screen. Garmin's big selling point is battery life, which fades with age, so ask how many days it lasts on a charge now versus new. Inspect the screen and bezel for scratches (these watches get knocked about), confirm the buttons and touchscreen respond, and check the charging contacts are not corroded. Make sure the correct charging cable is included, as Garmin uses proprietary connectors.

Straps are cheap, sensors are not. A worn strap is a few dollars to replace, so do not let it put you off. Do confirm the heart-rate sensor and GPS lock work, as those are the parts that matter.

Value. Garmins hold value well and last for years, so a used previous-generation Fenix or Forerunner is usually far better value than a new mid-range watch.

Common questions

Where are these prices from?

Live eBay listings, the largest source of used and refurbished Garmin watches. Pick a model and it fetches the current lowest-priced listings in real time.

Is it safe to buy a used Garmin watch?

Yes, mostly. Favour high-feedback sellers, check that the watch powers on and the screen is not cracked, verify the battery charges properly, and lean on eBay's Money Back Guarantee.

How much cheaper is used vs new?

Usually 60-70% below new. Current flagship watches hold value longest; older or discontinued models drop sharply once new ones launch.

What should I check first?

Total price with shipping, seller feedback and sales count, returns policy, screen condition, whether the original band and charger are included, and battery health. Real photos matter.

What does used vs refurbished mean for watches?

Used means a previous owner wore it; refurbished means it was returned or repaired and professionally restored to working condition. Both work fine. Seller refurbished watches often come with warranty or guarantee; check the listing details. Used watches are usually cheaper but may show cosmetic wear.

Which Garmin holds its value, and which does not

Each watch as a percentage of its launch price. Garmins tend to hold value better than most electronics because a four-year-old one still does the thing it was bought for, so the models that have dropped furthest are usually the ones a newer revision replaced rather than the ones that got worse. Cheapest by model, at a glance

A daily snapshot of the lowest genuine eBay price for every model we track, and how good that price is right now versus its usual level, updated automatically. Prices last refreshed 12 October 2026. Tap a price to see that model's cheapest listings on eBay, or tap a model name for the full live list here.

These are second hand prices, listed by sellers as used or pre-owned, taken from live eBay US listings in US dollars. In collectible categories a sealed or unworn item is sometimes the cheapest genuine listing, and it is included. The same number works both ways: it is what a buyer pays today and the resale value a seller can realistically ask. Every model also carries a price history, the daily record kept since tracking began, which is the part to read before you buy or resell. On a day when a model has no listing that passes these filters, its row keeps the last price we recorded rather than inventing one, and drops off this table if that goes on for more than a few days.

Under each model is the actual listing that price came from, so you can see whether it is the thing you want or a bundle, a variant, or an accessory that happens to share the name.

"Off retail" compares today's used price with what the model costs new. For anything still on sale that is its current new price, so the figure is close to a discount you could really get. For anything no longer sold it is the last new price we have on record: on a boxed product like a LEGO set or a console that is the RRP, and on a part like a graphics card it is nearer what new stock was going for at the end than what it cost at launch. So on older hardware read it as depreciation against late retail rather than against the original sticker. A few rows read "above" instead: they cost more used than new, which is normal for a retired set or a part nobody makes any more.

Over the period we have tracked, this category is down 4.1%, while the used market as a whole is down 0.3%. See the Used Price Index, which is built from these prices and published as a free CSV.
