Every robot vacuum, specs side by side.

Robot vacuum listings are a mess of made-up model names and marketing numbers. This lines up every popular model by the specs that actually matter, suction, mopping, self-emptying dock, navigation and battery, plus suction per dollar. Filter to the features you need and sort by what you care about.

The dearest robot vacuum costs 17× as much per unit of suction as the cheapest

We ranked 42 robot vacuums on price per 1,000 Pa of suction. It reorders the list almost completely: only one of the 42 holds the same position by suction per dollar as by price. The best value is the Ecovacs Deebot T80S Omni at $24 per 1,000 Pa, against $400 for the iRobot Roomba Combo 10 Max. Paying more does not buy suction. A machine under $300 works out at a median $83 per 1,000 Pa and one over $1,000 at $115, so the dearer machines are 38% worse per unit of suction. The premium goes on docks, mopping and navigation.

Method: street price divided by rated suction in pascals, per machine. Suction is the manufacturer's figure and is only one part of how well a vacuum cleans; brush design and dustbin size are not in it. Grouping by navigation, dock or price band was tested and none separates, so this chart shows individual machines. Cite this: "usefulHQ Robot Vacuum Value Study 2026", usefulhq.com/robot-vacuums/.

How to read this. Suction (Pa) is raw pulling power: 2,000-4,000 suits hard floors and light pet hair, 5,000-plus helps on carpet; the giant 20,000-plus figures only matter on thick carpet. Mop: vibrating pads just wipe, while spinning and roller mops with pressure genuinely scrub. Dock: Auto-empty empties the bin for you; an Omni dock also washes and dries the mop and refills water. Navigation: LiDAR maps accurately and cleans in rows, gyro and bounce are cheaper but sloppier, and +AI adds camera obstacle-dodging. $/1k Pa is a rough suction-per-dollar value lens, and the lowest is highlighted, but features usually matter more than raw suction, so filter to what you need first. Note: iRobot and Shark do not publish Pa consistently, so their suction figures are approximate. Prices are USD, converted live.

Common questions

How much suction do I need?

2,000-4,000 Pa for hard floors and light pet hair; 5,000-plus for carpet and heavy shedding. The 20,000-plus flagship numbers only help on thick carpet; for most homes a good dock and navigation matter more.

Is a self-emptying dock worth it?

For most people, yes, it is the biggest convenience upgrade, emptying itself for weeks. An omni dock also washes and dries the mop and refills water. Filter to self-emptying models to compare.

Do the mops work?

Vibrating pads just wipe; spinning and roller mops with downward pressure genuinely scrub, and omni docks wash the pads automatically. It won't replace a deep clean but keeps floors much better between mops.

Is LiDAR better?

Yes, it maps accurately, cleans in efficient rows, remembers rooms and supports no-go zones. Add camera AI to dodge cables and pet mess. Filter to LiDAR for the most reliable cleaning.
